25 Fun Facts About Marijuana

Marijuana is considered as one of the best wonders and gifts of nature. Through the years, it has been proven to provide a number of different health benefits to humans and animals. Despite the many different negative notions of this plant which stems from propaganda, marijuana has continued to prove that it can always outweigh all of the negative stuff through science. In this article, however, we will be talking about the many different fun facts that you can share about marijuana.

  1. First fun fact about marijuana is that according to the UN, there are around 158.8 million people all around the world that use of marijuana. This census is considered to be over 3.8% of the whole population of the world. That’s equivalent to half the entire population of the United States!
  2. There are over 6,000 Americans that try marijuana for the first time each and every day. That is according to the national survey on drug use.
  3. The term “Marihuana” (the actual name is Cannabis) came from Henry Anslinger from the Federal Bureau of Narcotics in the 1930’s in order to associate Mexican immigrants with the substance that was just made illegal at this time.   4. In the US alone, it is men are twice as likely compared to women to consider trying marijuana for the first time. Yet, women make up a large part of the cannabis industry.
  5. Compared to the global average, marijuana use in the United States is three times higher.

  17. An American citizen, Samuell Caldwell was the first one to be arrested violating the Marihuana Tax Act in October year 1937. This was due to selling marijuana while not paying the newly mandated tax. Caldwell was sentenced to four years of hard labor plus a fine is $1,000.
  18. Since Colorado has legalized cannabis, there has been a historic low of traffic fatalities within the state. Why?… because when you smoke cannabis your either way too careful or know that your too stoned to do anything… let alone drive. Shout out to all the responsible stoners.

  24. Teens in states where marijuana is legalized smoke less weed compared to states where marijuana is still considered illegal. Why? Because if you tell someone not to do something and/or make it ‘taboo’ they’re going to do it for that reason.
  25. When smoking a strain of cannabis that too high in THC and causing anxiety… you can take CBD (vape pen, edible, etc) to counter the effects. Cannabis naturally produces THC and CBD together to balance each other out.
