Sirius Black Marijuana Seeds Information

Although it shares its name with an enigmatic Harry Potter icon, for its rich, dark purple coloring, the strain Sirius Black is allegedly named. A growing organization called the Oregon Breeders Group took responsibility for this strain, saying it was originally conceived under the auspices of the so-called Sirius Black Project in Portland in the 1980s. However, the Oregon Breeders Association did not reveal the genes of Sirius Black.

Looking at strains that tend to be violet in hues, it is often mainly green with violet and purple embellishments, most usually at each petal’s tops. The Sirius Black variety switches this template with a flower that is almost completely purple with only the smallest greens and sages marbling. The small, dense buds that are dotted with short amber pistils are covered by a fine, sugar coating.

There seems to be little publicly available information on best practices to grow this variety, but like many varieties, it can be cultivated indoors or outdoors in a warm and humid climate. In contrast, the Oregon Breeders Group says that the purple color of Sirius Black can be obtained through a standard growing procedure and does not allow gardeners to “cold-shock” their plants by exposing them to temperatures below the average night.
