The products or materials we will be using are not hard to find, probably you have them in your kitchen right now.

Step # 1

Get a kettle filled with water, boil the water. It will be easier if you have a powerful water heater. The hotter the water, the better it will help soften and loosen that mold and build up in that bong.

Step # 2

Prepare two or three average-sized lemons, juice them into the glass bong. Did you know? Lemons are natural deodorizing agents that have a high acidity rating. This is effective in removing hard cannabis residue and molds.

Step # 3

Fill the bong with the boiling water up to the choke or neck of the bong.

Step # 4

Place a cover on the mouth hole and shake aggressively and vigorously. To prevent from being injured, used baking mitts to handle the bong. After a minute of shaking, dispose of the water, and fill it with room temperature tap water, do not use cold water because it may crack the bong open. 

Cleaning a Moldy Bong – Using Alcohol

In this method, rubbing alcohol is used instead of bleach or any other chemicals, this is due to the composition of the alcohol as it does not leave any scent, it is also quick drying and has a disinfecting agent that will surely sanitize that moldy bong. This is an effective way to remove molds in the bong.

The only materials you will be needing are the following.

  • Table Salt or Epsom salt (for coarseness)
  • Rubbing Alcohol or Isopropyl alcohol(91 percent, unscented)
  • A toothbrush or other small bottle brush (baby bottle brush)
  • Rubber Bands and Plastic wrap
  • Boiling Water

Step # 1

This step is very basic, it only requires common sent. Dispose of that disgusting old dirty water inside the bong.

Step #  2

Fill the glassware with salt preferably Epsom salt due to its coarseness. Make sure that all of the estates of the bong is covered with salt roughly two to three tablespoon per section. No need to be scientific about this, just ensure that there is enough salt to agitate that mold and residue.

Step # 3

Next will be the alcohol, fill the bong with the desired amount. Just eyeball it, there is no need for precision here. My best estimate will be half full to the point the liquid does not overflow. Swish the alcohol around to give it a good mix.

Cleaning a Moldy Bong – Organic method

Step # 3

Pour an estimated amount of ¼ up to ⅓ cup of white vinegar into each partition of the bong. You will see that the mixture will react to one another, do not panic! This is normal. This is a good sign because it means that it is taking action. The bubbling of the materials used is starting to break up those nasty molds and residue. Shake it softly to assure that all the surfaces are covered.

Step # 4

Using a bottle brush, straw or pipe cleaner, or that discarded toothbrush, gently scrub the areas and only apply pressure when needed. Do not worry, those bongs are made to withstand heat, there should be no problem using those brushes.

Step # 5

Dispose of the dirty mixture and repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 if needed.

Step # 6

Rinse the bong with warm water, and use filtered water as the last rinse to prevent any minerals from tap water to feed any microbes.

Fill the bong and then let the smoking begin! Enjoy!
